Full-Time Admissions & Recruitment Officer Salary: $55,000.00
Since 2016, Pawsperity has been helping uplift families from generational poverty through job training in the art of dog grooming. Pawsperity serves some of the community’s most vulnerable members, including individuals often coming from backgrounds of domestic violence, addiction, incarceration, and homelessness.
Position Purpose:
The Admissions and Recruitment Officer is responsible for identifying, engaging, and enrolling qualified applicants, with a focus on expanding access for individuals from underserved and underrepresented communities. This role combines strategic recruitment, targeted marketing, and personalized admissions.
The ideal candidate is comfortable speaking in front of groups of people and has the skill to manage processes with multiple steps. An employment history which includes community outreach, relationship building, and inclusive marketing practices, as well as a strong understanding of the barriers faced by marginalized populations in accessing post-secondary education and training.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, schools, nonprofits, and workforce organizations.
- Ensure all recruitment and admissions activities follow ethical guidelines, avoiding any misrepresentation or undue pressure on applicants.
- Provide clear, encouraging information about programs, benefits, and enrollment steps to prospective students and partners.
- Guide applicants through the admissions process, including eligibility, financial aid, and application requirements.
- Follow up with prospective students to ensure they feel supported from inquiry to enrollment.
- Maintain records of outreach activities and track recruitment results to evaluate effectiveness.

- Background in outreach, admissions, or community engagement.
- Bachelors degree in Human Services
Working Conditions:
Ability to work flexible hours. Some evenings and weekends for community events.
Ability to work in an office environment, but engaging with clients and social service organizations, may sometimes move into nonstandard workplaces.
